Sport should – and can – be a safe and fair place for all.

82% of adults surveyed by Victoria University reported experiencing abuse in community sport as children and over half never spoke to an adult about the violence.

Australian Childhood Foundation acts to build positive relationships that keep children and young people safe and help them to heal. The Foundation provides counselling to children and carers and teaches adults to understand how they can help to prevent abuse and trauma. By standing up for children and young people’s rights, the Foundation ensures that every child’s need for safety, love, and respect is upheld.

Sport Integrity Australia’s role is to keep Australian sport safe and fair, for all
participants. They provide support to sporting organisations across Australia to help
them build safe environments, including free education for coaches, volunteers,
players, parents, committees and administrators, and complaint handling support or
advice when issues arise.
